The Chateau Louis Degrave is a 22 hectare vineyard, comprising a winemaking cellar, several outbuildings and the main house..
The estate is well positioned, being situated in Cathar Country, in the heart of the Corbiere region. It is located the small wine village of Talairan (375 inhabitants) and is only 10 km from Lagrasse and from Villerouge-Termenes, and close to Termes. Queribus and Peyrepertuse, as well as the Abbaye of Frontfroid are within 20 km, and the sea is only 30 km away. Also the large cities of Narbonne (20 km) and Carcassonne (50 km) are within driving distance
Through the shutters of the imposing main house, built in part on an ancient feudal possession, one can see the “Bassin a petals”, the architectural pride of Talairan. One can immediately recognise the Mediterranean character of the main building. Its style, representative of Languedocian winemakers’ houses from the end of the 19th century, certainly has an undeniable charm. Inside, the rooms are very spacious. Tiles with old fashioned character, antique furniture and decorative objects, as well as the original stucco walls, immediately put visitors in a peaceful and convivial atmosphere.
The outbuildings, where the lodgings are located, are also typical of the region. The Gite Du Bassin evokes the Mediterranean lifestyle with its charming green shutters and stone facades. The warmth and the typical style of the South of France are seen in the Grand and Petit Prieure (with sky blue shutters, wrought iron pergola, outdoor living area and barbecue made from local stone...)
